Dr. Anne Valdez, the optometrist of Optic Gallery Horizon Ridge, has been a Henderson resident since 2005. She attended UNLV for her undergraduate degree in Biology and received her doctorate in Optometry in 2018 at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. During optometry school, she was President of the Private Practice Club and a Student Optometric Leadership Association member. In addition, she completed her externships in Japan, Arizona, southern California, and Las Vegas.
Ever since she was a child, she has been fascinated by the medical field, as many of her family members pursued a career in medicine and nursing. However, as she gained exposure to many different professions in healthcare, she ultimately decided to become an Optometrist. This decision was primarily shaped by her first job in optometry as a technician at Optic Gallery
during college. She loved the patient interactions and the joy patients had as they received their glasses and could see the world clearly. Fast forward to the end of optometry school, and Dr. Valdez had to decide whether she wanted to return home to Vegas or stay in California. Dr. Valdez chose to return to her home to serve the community that has helped her reach her goals. She says it is the best decision she has made, as she now regularly sees many family members, childhood friends,
and other community members. Dr. Valdez says the best part of the job is to see families and follow up with them year after year.
